Time travel through the history of electronic music from Cologne, from the 50s until today. The film follows the roots of inventing a new style of music from the WDR’s Electronic Studio, Stockhausen, and CAN via Kompakt, A-Musik until the vivid and diverse club scene of today.
Artists such as Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay of CAN, Mouse on Mars, Marcus Schmickler, Niobe, Wolfgang Voigt, Michael Mayer, Lena Willikens, Barnt, Fr. Reichert, paint a mesmerizing portrait of a city where each and everyone is somehow interconnected. Direct lines of inspiration can be drawn over several decades and different music scenes are actually closely linked by influential clubs, labels and record stores.
Immerse yourself into the inextricable relationship between electronic music and Cologne’s soundscape and architecture!
