WORK AT IN-EDIT

IN-EDIT is a music documentary film festival with new international and Dutch music documentaries. Next to the screening of the films, the festival has live performances by matching musicians, Q&A’s with artists and directors, and industry meetings arranged for and by professionals.

In 2003 the first IN-EDIT International Music Documentary Film Festival took place in Barcelona. The festival was born from two passions: the one for music and the one for film. At the moment, IN-EDIT has grown into an international music documentary festival with editions in more than 10 countries.

The festival in the Netherlands is organised by Cassette and founded by Carla Navarro and Anna Chvartchenko. In the passing years, the IN-EDIT team has grown into a professional family of 10+ people with a passion for film and music, check them all here.

The next edition will kick off on 13 – 23 April 2023 in Amsterdam and touring throughout the Netherlands in Utrecht, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Den Bosch, Groningen, Haarlem… and more! Also, all year long, IN-EDIT organises special screenings of extraordinary music documentaries all over the Netherlands.

CURRENT VACANCIES

At this moment we are looking for someone to cover the following positions:

DUTCH COPYWRITER (VOLUNTEER)

An international festival like IN-EDIT gathers a very diverse crowd to the cinema and behind the scenes. That’s why our communication has always been bilingual (Dutch and English). In addition to our versatile and international team, we are looking for someone who can assist with the Dutch translation and communication.

The main tasks of this volunteer position are:
– Translating website content from English to Dutch, ideally, directly in the WordPress editor (film synopsis, fanzine articles, industry events,…) in line with the Communication Coordinator
– If requested, assist in translating and correcting other content for the festival media and publicity

This position requires variable availability from the beginning of February (around 5 hours per week) and an increasing commitment until the 10th of March, when the whole website must be totally up to date (up to 10 hours per week) for the ticket sales to start. After that, the time requirement will decrease again (around 2 hours per week). During the festival in Amsterdam from 13th to 23rd April, there is a possibility you’d be needed to translate extra texts but, mostly, to help in diverse communication tasks (2-3 hours a day). After the festival, we prepare the channels to rest and re-edit the texts accordingly (2-3 for a couple of weeks). This hour count may vary depending on activity flows, therefore, the number of hours per week is not set in stone (this is why we let you know in advance that it’s best if you can deal with this flexibility).

We are also looking for someone that is proactive and independent, hard working and easy going, open in communicating and a problem solver. We like to feel that the IN-EDIT crew is free to express themselves and help each other improve work flows, processes or content, but also to be part of a committed tribe that is bringing up this festival from the start.

This is a volunteer position, therefore you will not get a financial compensation but as an IN-EDIT volunteer you’ll find yourself in the right place to expand your network in the film, music and festival industry and to add extra work experience to your résumé. But most importantly: as a volunteer you will have a great time! Also, you will benefit from the following extra’s:
– Free entrance to the festival programme when not fully booked/sold out (film screenings and Industry Meetings)
– Free entrance to the exclusive festival opening event on Thursday 13th of April
– Free entrance to the exclusive festival closing event on Saturday 22nd of April
– Free entrance to the IN-EDIT volunteer borrel
– An IN-EDIT festival T-shirt
