IN-EDIT NL & Drift Festival Team Up for ‘Sisters With Transistors’ Nijmegen Screening

On Wednesday, 8 June, 2022, one of IN-EDIT NL’s most popular films from our 2021 programme will come to Nijmegen. In partnership with Drift Festival, Sisters With Transistors (dir. Lisa Rovner) will come to LUX for a special screening, followed by a discussion about the role of women in electronic music and the importance of nightlife in general.

Sisters With Transistors tells the untold story of electronic music’s female pioneers, composers who embraced machines and their liberating technologies to utterly transform how we produce and listen to music today. The film maps a new history of electronic music through the visionary women whose radical experimentations with machines redefined the boundaries of music, including Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.
